Ms. Karen Teague - Assistant Principal, Grade 11, Grade 10 (Q-Z) Administrator
With 27 years of experience in education, I bring a deep commitment to student growth, instructional excellence, and school leadership. I hold two master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix—one in Administration and Supervision and the other in Curriculum and Instruction.
From 2020 to 2024, I proudly served as the assistant principal at Brewer Middle School. Prior to that, I held administrative roles at Emerald High School and the Genesis Education Center. My experience also includes four years as the district social studies instructional coach, supporting teachers across the district in instructional planning and content delivery.
Before transitioning into leadership roles, I spent many years teaching a range of social studies courses at both the middle and high school levels. I am endorsed in AP U.S. History, AP Human Geography, Read to Succeed, and Project-Based Learning. My contributions to the field include serving on the South Carolina Social Studies Standards writing team and presenting at various educational conferences across the state and nation. In 2016–2017, I was honored to be named Greenwood District 50’s Teacher of the Year.
Most recently, I have been a participant in the Clemson LEADERS program (2022–2025), a professional learning community for rural school leaders focused on addressing local challenges and improving outcomes through strategic coaching and collaboration.
I am excited to continue supporting students, staff, and families in creating a school culture rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity.
Thank you!
