Ms. Karen Teague - Assistant Principal 11th grade
I have earned two master's degrees from the University of Phoenix: one in Administration and Supervision and another in Curriculum and Instruction. This is my 26th year in education. From 2020 - 2024 I was the assistant principal at Brewer Middle School. Before that, I was an AP at Emerald High School and Genesis Education Center. I was the district social studies instructional coach for four years before that. I have taught at the middle and high school level in various subjects in social studies. I am certified in AP US History, Read to Succeed, Project-Based Learning, and AP Human Geography. I have worked as part of the SC Social Studies Standard curriculum writing team, presented at several conferences both statewide and nationally, and been the Greenwood District 50 Teacher of the Year in 2016-2017. Most recently I have been a part of the Clemson LEADERS program (2022-2024) which provides a coaching community for school leaders in rural schools to identify and improve local problems of practice.
