Mr. Acord has spent nine years in education as a high school and middle school band director, teaching students in grades 6-12. Band programs under Mr. Acord’s direction have experienced massive participation growth while improving competitively each year. Most recently, Mr. Acord led the marching band at Emerald High School to its most successful year in school history, finishing 9th overall in the state. While teaching at Brookland-Cayce High School in Columbia, he also coached the varsity golf team to two state championship appearances. Mr. Acord is entering his first year as Assistant Principal and is dedicated to providing an excellent environment for students to thrive.
Personal:
I have been married for 10 years to my wife Andi Acord. We have one daughter, Reagan. We also have two dogs (Rylee and Ellie) and two cats (Winston and Lily). In addition to playing trumpet in the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, I enjoy watching sports, cooking on the grill, and playing golf.
