STACEY L. TURNER

 

 

Stacey L. Turner, a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High, was an outstanding basketball player who helped lead her team to back to back State Championships in 1995 and 1996.  Her individual honors were numerous.  Twice she was named MVP of her high school team and the Lander University Christmas Classic; and twice she was voted to the All Region Team.  In addition, she was named All Lakelands, All State, and a participant in the North / South All Star game.  Upon graduation she received an athletic scholarship to Okaloosa-Walton Community College where she earned All Conference and honorable mention All American recognition.  She then enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University where she was named Most Valuable Player, Newcomer of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, Scholar Athlete of the Year, and All Conference.  She concluded her basketball career playing in a Semi Pro League with the Houston Jaguars.
