KIEBLER JAMES

Kiebler James, a 1958 graduate of Greenwood High School, was an all around athlete lettering in Football, Baseball, and Basketball.  Even though he was good in all three, he excelled in Baseball, both at Greenwood High and for the Post 20 American Legion Teams.  He batted .426 during his senior year in high school and led his team to an outstanding season.  He pitched and played shortstop for the Post 20 Team, leading them to a third place finish in the 1958 Legion World Series in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  After batting .385, Kiebler was named the National Player of the Year for the 1958 American Legion Season.  He received a baseball scholarship to Clemson University and was the leading hitter on the Freshman Team.
