·        3 Sport Athlete – Football, Basketball, Track

 

·        Participated in 1958 Shrine Bowl & North / South All Star Football Games

 

·        1958 Greenwood High Team Captain

 

·        Tied for Longest Play in GHS History (100 Yard Interception)

 

·        All State Basketball Player

 

·        Lettered in Football at Clemson University 1960, 1961, 1962

 

·        2 Year Starter at Quarterback

 

·        Received the Game Ball after a 20-17 Victory over USC in 1962

 

·        Received the Ferris Mobley Award for the Clemson Athlete with the Highest Scholastic Average

 

·        Spearheaded the Campaign to Build the New Greenwood YMCA

 

·        The Building was Posthumously Dedicated in his name in 1997

 

·        Served on the Board of Directors of the United Saving Bank & the Board of Trustees of Self Memorial Hospital

 

·        Awarded the “Order of the Palmetto” in 1993 by Governor Campbell

 

·        Served as a Deacon and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church

 

·        Survived by his wife Jane and two sons Scott & David
