·        1967 Graduate of Greenwood High School

 

·        Received 4 Varsity Letters in Track, 3 in Football, and 2 in Basketball

 

·        Played in the 1966 Shrine Bowl Football Game and the 1967 North / South All Star Game

 

·        In 1966 was Selected The AAA Back of the year by the Greenville Touchdown Club

 

·        In 1966 was Selected to the All State Team by the Greenville News, the State Newspaper, and WBTV in Charlotte

 

·        Was chosen Co-Captain of the 1966 Greenwood Team

 

·        Most Valuable Track Performer in 1965, 1966, 1967

 

·        Selected Most Outstanding in Field Events at the Southeastern Track and Field Championships by the Atlanta Track Club in 1967

 

·        Set the S.C. State Record in the Long Jump in 1966.  Broke his own Record in 1967

 

·        Set the S.C. State Record in the Low Hurdles in 1967

 

·        Won Three Gold Medals at the State Track Meet in 1967

 

·        Selected as the Most Outstanding Athlete in the News-Piedmont Relays in 1967

 

·        Received an Athletic Scholarship to attend the University of South Carolina

 

·        Three year Letterman in both Football and Track

 

·        Returned Punt against Clemson in 1968 for the only Touchdown in a 7-3 victory

 

·        Selected as an Academic All ACC Performer in 1968, 1970, 1971

 

·        Drafter by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1971
