· 1956 Graduate of Greenwood High School

· Co-Captain of Football Team for 2 Years

· Quarterbacked 1955 Team to the State Championship and a Perfect 12-0 Record

· Played in 1955 Shrine Bowl Football Game

· Selected as the South Carolina High School Athlete of the Year in 1955

· Received a Football Scholarship to Clemson University

· Selected All ACC First Team in 1957

· Was an Academic All American in 1957

· “Back of the Week” in the United States for 1958 Vanderbilt Game

· Co-Captain of 1959 Football Team

· Selected to the College All State Team in 1957, 1958, 1959

· Inducted into the Clemson University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981

· 1960 Played with the Boston Patriots (Now the New England Patriots)

· First Player to ever sign a contract with the Patriots

· Member of Myers Park Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina

· Works with Special Olympics and enjoys playing Tennis

· Has two Daughters and one Grandson
