Erin Powell Williams

 

Erin Powell Williams, a 1990 graduate of Greenwood High, was an outstanding tennis player.  She was good enough to play #2 singles in seventh grade.  Most of her high school career she played #1 singles and #1 doubles.  She was selected All Region numerous times and was ranked in the state, the south, and the nation.  She attended Furman University and led her team to four consecutive Southern Conference Championships.  Each year Erin was selected All Conference in singles and doubles.  She won the singles championship in 1991 and the #1 doubles championships in 1991, 1992, and 1993.  She was selected to the Furman University Women’s Tennis “Team of the Decade”.  She participated in the U.S. Tennis Association Professional satellite circuit in the summers of 1990-1993, and has her Professional Teaching Certificate.
