Welcome to Mrs. Culbertson’s room!!!!

Advanced Algebra/Pre-Calculus

     I hope this will be a great semester for each of you.  Success to me is doing your own personal best.  In an effort to keep your parents/guardians informed of your progress, I will send a grade summary sheet after each chapter test for their signature.  This signed summary will give you extra credit points on the next chapter test.  These summary sheets should come about every 2 to 3 weeks.

Supplies Needed

*3 ring notebook/dividers             *Pencils (No pens!!)

* Notebook paper                           *Open mind

*Graphing calculators will be provided for use in class but you will need a calculator to use at home.  Scientific calculators are fine for home use.

2.     Systems of equations and inequalities

3.     Polynomial and rational functions

4.     Conics

5.     Exponential and logarithmic functions

6.     Sequences and series

Subject Policies

*Homework is assigned daily with the exception of some Fridays.

*All work should be written in pencil and kept in your notebook.

*Grade sheets will be sent home after each chapter test.  This allows parents to be informed at all times and ensures that students are constantly aware of their grade standing. Students should use grade sheet information to make desired adjustments.

*Grades are broken down as follows:  Homework – 20%, Quiz Average – 40%, and Chapter Test Average – 40%

Extra Help

*It is imperative that you do all of your homework each day to be successful in math.  I am available each morning from 8:00 to 8:30 to provide extra help to anyone who needs it.
