Geometry is a course that will have
homework almost every day. A grade will
be recorded at the end of each nine weeks according to how often the student
has attempted the homework during the nine weeks. Also it is very important that Geometry
students study their notes daily.
Quizzes on these notes will occur.
As soon
as a question or problem arises, the student needs to ask questions either in
class or one-on-one before or after school.
Problems often become worse because a student will not ask for
assistance and the situation “mushrooms” on the student. I am available for extra assistance before
and/or after school. I ask students to
check with me in case I might have an appointment or a meeting I must
attend. Most of the time I am
available.
This
class will have two projects per nine weeks.
These projects will be done using out of class time. No class time will be spent on the projects. Students need to be very aware of the due dates for these projects and not wait
until the last minute to complete the assignment. The projects will be assigned
with at least two weeks notice.
Each
class period will start with a class opener concerning the skills tested on the
HSAP Exam, test students must past to receive a diploma. At the end of each skill grouping there will
be an assessment. These daily skills and
assessment will be part of the student’s grades for this course. (see below)
