PROCEDURES FOR MISS HAMMETT

Be very neat and clear in your work!

Respect yourself, your classmates, and me.  Respect each other’s space and property.  Most of the time, our attitude affects other’s treatment of us.  So treat others as you like to be treated.

Students should be on time to class and should have all materials.  You should plan ahead to be sure you have time to take care of locker and restroom needs between classes.  You will not be allowed to leave during class except under emergency conditions, since your presence in class is a necessary condition for learning.  If you have a medical condition of which I need to be aware, please have your parents let me know that there is a note in your file.

Do not talk.  It is both annoying and difficult to try to listen when people around you will not be quiet.  You do not have the right to impair another student’s opportunity to learn.

Stay in your seat until the bell rings.

Remember food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom.  This includes candy.  Remember head coverings, cellular telephones, and beepers are not allowed at any time.

The Greenwood High School and District 50 rules will be enforced fully.

Announcements are important to everyone!  Remember to be quiet any time the intercom comes on.  Talking, etc. will result in detention time.

Time on any assignment may be limited at the teacher’s discretion.  The time allowed to complete any assignment will always be more than sufficient for any student who stays on task and/or who has properly prepared, as in the case of a test.

Make-up work must be completed within one week of the student’s return to school and at the convenience of the teacher.  It is the responsibility of the student to inquire about make-up work.  Any work not made up within one week will receive a grade of 0!

Extra help will be available and is strongly encouraged any time a student encounters the slightest problem.  Help will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. and 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday upon request.

Learn now to take responsibility for yourself and to gracefully accept the consequences, as well as benefits, of your own actions. Use your common sense.  If you think if might be wrong, it probably is.  If you think it might disturb someone else, it probably will.

Procedures are subject to amendment without prior notification as needs arise.
