GHS Choral Booster Minutes

In attendance for the November meeting were Gina Jolly, Kris Abell, Lisa Genson, Pam Thompson, Marcia Young, Debbie Tharpe, Cecille Davis and Lori Cooper, Angela Morgan, Sharon Woolbright, Rhonda Flowe, Diana Cox, Anna Lauren Cox, Charlene George, Teresa Salisbury, Pablo Perez and Lynne Rodgers.

• The minutes from the last meeting were distributed and read and Marcia Young made a motion to approve the minutes; Pam Thompson made a second – motion approved..

Coffee House

Pam and Rhonda thanked everyone fore the success of Coffee house. 382 people were seated for dessert and coffee and the performance was great!! The church was very cooperative as well!

Financial Report:

Marcia Young gave a budget report and a financial statement was presented to each member. After decorations etc have been paid for coffee house we should have the final profit figures for coffee house.

Fundraising

Debbie Tharpe discussed the following fundraisers:

• Pine straw sales –1553 total bales of pine straw were sold. Delivery will be Saturday from 8:30 – 1: 00 pm at Hobby and Garden. Approximately $2480 credit will go towards students. Students winners for top sales were: $50 1^st place Amanda Young; $30 2^nd place – Kathryn Poston; $20 3^rd place Colby Tharpe.
• Candles – Home Interior candle $$ is due November 29^th. Candles can be picked up Friday Dec 14^th in the chorus room.
• Other fundraising – Doughnuts and candy will be the fundraising for next semester.

Spring Trip

The spring trip will be Chicago and will be hosted by Junior Tours. Detailed information can be found on the website and Mrs. Jolly passed out the itinerary to the students. The payment schedule is as follows:

• 1^st deposit – November 20^th - $150 **cannot use credit $$
• 2^nd deposit – January 14^th - $150
• 3^rd deposit – Feb 15^th - $150
• Final deposit – March 17^th $175
• Parents interested in chaperoning will also need to turn in the first deposit

Publicity - Lisa and Jeff Smith will try and have different pictures of fundraising and Coffee and Dessert event in the paper.

Website

The website has been updated. Please remember to access the web page to locate the calendar of events, member meeting dates, pictures and much more!!

New Business

• 12 students made All-state this year!!
• Winter and Christmas Concert will be Dec 17^th at 7pm at GHS
• Spring Concert – Lander University - March 18^th
• Rhonda made a motion to have between $125 - $250 allotted to purchase permanent decorations to be used for events (i.e. lights mirrors etc) Lisa Genson made a 2^nd - motion was approved.
• Diana Cox volunteered to donate a tree to be used for the stage for the winter concert. Additional lights will need to be purchased by the Booster club.
• A November and December calendar was passed out to reflect all of the performances for the group. This calendar can also be found on the website.

The next Choral Booster Board Meeting will be December 4^th. The Booster Club meeting will be January 15^th in the Choral Room.
