Financial Report:
Marcia Young gave a budget report and a financial statement
was presented to each member. To date,
$1510 has been collected with 30 booster members. A total of $1065 is the credit amount for doughnut
sales with $992 going directly to the student’s accounts to pay for fair
shares, outfits, or future trips. The
rest of the credit amount was made from extra doughnuts given to us by Krispy
Kreme.
Marcia also explained the various membership levels and the
benefits of being a booster club member.
Fundraising
Debbie Tharpe discussed the following fundraisers:
- Doughnut
sales – each student will receive a credit of $1.68 per box sold. Another doughnut fundraiser will be held
in the spring
- Pine
straw sales – starts today and forms were distributed; we will be
getting the pine straw locally at Hobby and Garden. When selling the pine straw the student should
give the purchasers 2 options. 1)
If they would like to have the pine straw delivered (responsibility of the
seller!) or 2) the pine straw can be picked up by the purchaser at Hobby
and Garden. Oct 19th
will be the first $$ collection date; November 2nd will be the 2nd $$
collection date and November 9th will be the final $$ turn in
date. Pine straw Pick-up dates
will be November 17th – November 24th at Hobby and
Garden, with the main pick-up date being the 17th. Please note that many volunteers will be
needed that Saturday, November 17th to help unload the truck at
Hobby and Garden for our group’s pine straw. The pine straw is “Loblolly” and is 6-8”
long. Each student will receive a
credit of $1.55 per bale.
- Candles
– Home Interior candle sales will begin directly after Pine straw and will
be delivered to us in time for Christmas.
Coffee House:
The theme for the Coffee House this fall will be “Disney”. The
tentative date is set for November 8th, pending the location. Several locations are still being looked into
as possibilities. We should have an update by the next meeting.
Dinner Theatre will be hosted in the Spring.
Several options were discussed about the video taping of the
performances. Rice Videos will be taping
our performances this year. If anyone in
the group has the equipment to edit/record a section of a DVD and burn to
another DVD please see Mrs. Jolly. She
needs to send a segment of a choral DVD into the state.
