GHS Choral Boosters Member Minutes

Meeting: November 14th

Members in attendance at the November 14th, 2006 Choral Boosters member Meeting included: Lisa Genson, Sharon Woolbright, Marcia Young, Pam Thompson, Rhonda Flowe, Joey Adams, Debbie Tharpe, Kris Abell, Lisa Smith and Choral Director Gina Jolly.

Lisa Genson opened the meeting with congratulations to everyone who helped with Coffee House. We had a full house. A special thanks was given to Mrs. Jolly for the use of her husband’s sound equipment. Two suggestions were made for next year. If reserved tickets for Coffee House are sold next year, we need to write RESERVED on the ticket. We also need to make sure that we serve decaffeinated coffee.

Marcia Young gave a copy of the financial report to everyone in attendance. A copy can be gotten from Marcia if you didn’t receive one. She has the list of the individual students account. The only other thing that was asked is whether the security officers were paid. Mrs. Jolly stated that she had already paid them.

Rhonda Flowe then gave an update on the Pine straw fundraiser. Currently, she said that we had sold 1830 bales of straw. We would have about 42 extra bales at the time of delivery. Rhonda will have the total cost on Friday for the pine straw and delivery charges. We will have to pay the truck driver at the time of delivery. She said that she would try to get a more precise time of delivery for Saturday when she got the total cost on Friday. She planes to get the names and cell phone numbers of the drivers in order to be able to communicate with them.

Lisa Genson stated that the Home Interior Candle sales would be from November 14th to November 28th. Members in attendance tonight received the brochures and the students will get the brochures tomorrow in class if interested. It was decided that no tax would be collected in order to prevent confusion. It will be taken out of the profit at the end of the sale. Candles will be in December 13th or 14th. We will need some parents to sort them for distribution to the students who sold them. It was mentioned that we could set up a table for students to pick up their candles the night of the Winter Concert. Details TBA by Mrs. Jolly.

Mrs. Gina Jolly told everyone that the Show Choir Dresses were still not in and that the students should wear black and white or all black for the November 16th MOAA performance.

The next NYC trip payment is due Monday the 20th of November. The shows that the kids will see are “The Lion King” and “Hairspray”

Mrs. Jolly also made a special mention of the students who were selected to the Allstate Chorus. They are as follows:

SATB Chorus: Julie Dean, Caleb Hopkins and Amelia Nixon.

SSA Chorus: Emily Standley and Keeley Fagan

Finally it was decided that there would not be a member meeting in December due to the Holidays. We will resume in January. Also the agenda included a list of important Show Choir Performance dates.
