GHS House Rules

Appropriate length of skirts and shorts can be determined by extending one’s arms by one’s side and extending the fingers.  Skirts and shorts should visibly extend beyond the fingers.

No head coverings including hoods, caps, and hats will be worn on campus from 7:00AM through 4:30PM.

No house shoes, bedroom slippers, pajamas or curlers/rollers will be worn on campus.

In an effort to allow all students to move freely throughout the campus, students are to keep their hands to themselves at all times.  Any contact with another student will be deemed inappropriate.  Inappropriate behavior includes hitting, touching, kissing, pulling, touching in a sexual nature, tugging, and any other physical contact with another student.

Upon arriving on campus, students are to immediately exit all cars and report to the main campus.  Loitering in the parking lots will be strictly prohibited.  Those who fail to adhere to this policy will be disciplined up to and including the loss of driving privileges.  Students may not return to their cars without permission from an administrator or until the student is dismissed.

Once a car is on campus, it may be searched at any time.  Students are responsible for what is in his/her car.

Students are provided a locker and lock.  Lockers may be checked at any time so lockers should not contain anything that a student does not want an administrator to see.

Students may only have food and drinks in designated areas such as the cafeteria, fish bowl and black top area during lunch.  Food is not allowed at any other location during the school day.

If a student fights at GHS, he/she may be arrested.  At the least, he/she will be suspended according to district policy which may result in a loss of credit for the semester.  Fighting will not be tolerated at GHS.

GHS observes the 20-20 rule which means students are not allowed to leave the classroom to go anywhere during the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes of class.

Students are required to have their Agenda on them at all times.  The first Agenda is provided free.  In the event of loss, students may purchase a new Agenda for $5.00.

Students should be on time, and be seated BEFORE the bell rings.  Students are required to bring all the necessary materials: textbooks, pencil, pen, ruler, etc.

A photocopy machine is available for student use in the Media Center.  Copies are 10 cents per page.

Greenwood High School cannot accept deliveries during the school day.  This includes flowers, balloons, packages, food, etc.
