FIRE DRILLS /
EVACUATION PLANS
Safety drills are serious matters.
Look for posted fire drill and tornado drill maps and read the
instructions. When the signal for a
fire drill is given, proceed quickly and quietly in the direction shown by
the fire drill map or as instructed by school personnel. Go single file down the hall, proceed outside
the building to the location directed by the teacher, and do not talk. Stay with the class so that roll can be
taken. Remain outside until the signal
is given to return to your class.
When a tornado drill is initiated, assume a duck-and-cover
position on an interior wall away from glass or machinery. Remain in this position until given
instructions by the teacher/administrator.
During earthquake drills, duck and cover and then evacuate the
building as directed.
During safety drills, students
should follow all staff instructions without question.
NOTE: Anyone found tampering with the fire alarm
system is subject to expulsion.
