Course Changes
To minimize disruptive changes in a student’s academic
program, the following policies have been approved by the administration. The intent is to provide a stable student
population in each classroom to facilitate the instructional process.
During
the first weeks of school, efforts will be made to accomplish legitimate
changes required by circumstances such as the following:
-a computer or scheduling error
-a student who failed a course and
is scheduled to repeat the course under the same teacher
-a student scheduled for a class
for which credit has been previously granted, i.e., summer school or a student
scheduled for a course for which prerequisites have not been met, i.e., French
II when the student failed French I.
If the student originally requested the course, no change will be made. Being placed in a course a student selected
as an alternate choice is not an error. Changes will not be made based on
teacher preferences. No class change is
official until the proper student course change notice has been completed and
distributed by the Guidance Office.
